20th Century in Review

Here is a summary of my first 15 years of my life from when I was born in 1985-02-11 until Friday night of the last day of December, 1999-12-31, the last day of the year 1999, the last year of that 1990's decade, and the last day of the 20th century of the 1900's, and of the last day of the millennium of the 1000's.

Sim City Millennium New Years

Sim City Millennium New Years

I missed the Millennium New Years of the year 2000 while playing Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) based video-game Sim City, which was made in 1995 for the SNES.

I use to see cousin Nathan Williams play this game at their house in Warrenton, Oregon USA. Nathan is the son of my mother's sister. Nathan would use cheat codes that would give him millions of dollars for building super cities of all your heart desires.

On December 31st (of the year 1999, I believe), I was playing Sim City. I was going to stop so I could count down into the next millennium , but I lost track of the time and it already a new century and millennium and year.

I comedically thought, and may have said something like, "Oh well, I guess I have wait until next year, or I mean until next decade, or I mean next century, or next millennium, and then I will be ready."

West Coast Camp

After completing the six years of the Bible Clubs curriculum of learn Bible verses, attendance, activities, challenges, requirements, in the Word Of Life Olympians clubs, and the AWANA clubs (which awarded me the Timothy and Steadfast Award for those two different clubs facilitated at different churches in different cities on different days, attended by different kids), I was able to attend the Word Of Life's West Coast Camp in Lassen Pines, California, United States, for the last or second to last week of July of the years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and then I went off to the Word Of Life camps in New York for 2004, 2005, and 2006. That was eight strait years of Word Of Life camps, followed by 3 additional years of working at Salvation Army camps as well, which makes it 11 years of camp experience in my life.

The Omega Code (film)

The Omega Code (film).

In 1999, when I was 14 years old, me and my family saw the film The Omega Code in the big screen, and I have seen it more than once. It is about the future. It is about a man attempting to take over the world. It is also about this young father who tries to stop him. It is scary.

I also saw Bicentennial Man that year on a Sunday evening. After it was over, I caught the rest of our adult Bible study at our Community Baptist Church in Cornelius, Oregon USA and one at my church told that I should not have seen it and I understand how he feels but I still wanted to see it as the scientist and historian and observer and philosopher that I am.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Here are some SPOILER ALERTS from the film STAR WARS I: THE PHANTOM MENACE. I may spoil and reveal secrets and plot points in this film, in case you have not seen it or something.

When I was 14 years old in the year 1999, I saw the film Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace in the cinema a few times and did not realize at first that Darth Maul was sliced in half.

Cool Kid in 1999

Cool Kid in 1999.

I was playing basketball at our park, which is a few houses from my house, or I mean trailer. This is in my neighborhood, the Rose Grove, in Forest Grove, Oregon USA. I was playing with white-skin Randy, Joe, and brown-skin Hispanic Elder. It started raining. I slid in the rain with my sneakers but I made some shots. They would call me kid. They would see me do things and they would say cool. I was a kid. I was cool. You put the two words together and that is what they started calling me. Either Randy or Elder named me the Cool Kid. Later I would have other nicknames like Ghetto Joe, Joe Dirt, Tweety, Joe Cool. Randy, his brother Joe, and Elder did drugs sometimes. They may have went to jail a few times, or I am not sure.
